Redistricting Data (PL94) was released by the Census Bureau on August 12, 2021. This data is available in an easy-to-use format from IPUMS NHGIS at https://data2.nhgis.org/main. For the Year filter, choose the 2020 Decennial Year. Then choose the Geographic Level of data that you want to download. Click the plus (+) sign next to the table(s) that you need to add them to your cart. Then click Continue at the top right of the screen.
Note that this data release contains only six tables: (1) Race, (2) Hispanic or Latino, and Not Hispanic or Latino by Race, (3) Race for the Population 18 Years and Over, (4) Hispanic or Latino, and Not Hispanic or Latino by Race for the Population 18 Years and Over, (5) Group Quarters Population by Major Group Quarters Type, and (6) Occupancy Status. Additional data from the 2020 Decennial Census will be released in the coming months.
The Kentucky State Data Center (KSDC) is the state’s lead agency in the U.S. Census Bureau’s State Data Center Program and Kentucky’s official clearinghouse for Census data. The State Data Center program was initiated by the U.S. Census Bureau in 1978 in order to facilitate the dissemination of Census data to data users across the state and to provide a vehicle for user feedback to the Census Bureau. The Kentucky State Data Center is housed in the Department of Urban and Public Affairs in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Louisville.
